What is Sia?
Sia, the Sensitive Insight App, offers situation-based applicable advice and practical solutions for sensitive people.
We offer free support and guidance for the sensitive community, bringing together a network of collaborators, tools, techniques and people sharing their personal experience.
Sia simply gives advice to people who are easily overwhelmed in their daily life, due to their sensory processing sensitivity. We provide support for those who “feel more”, “hear more”, “see more”… and sometimes too much. Sensory processing sensitivity is shared by many people who are diagnosed on the spectrums of ADHD and autism, however it is a trait that can be found in all types of people.
Living with the trait of high sensitivity on a daily basis comes with challenges, but also with advantages, if managed reasonably. Challenges come from living in a world that is predominantly designed for an average, or neurotypical perception. Advantages come from the depth of feeling afforded to highly sensitive people.
Situations: Sia provides users with content items that consist of directly applicable steps to take, when faced with specific situations. It attends to the needs you meet right now, and also offers a medium and a long term perspective. One of the long term supporting approaches consists in Implementing helpful techniques and methods as a practice. .
Techniques: Sia also offers a selection of applicable techniques, with easily understandable instructions that may be implemented in your own time. The selected techniques reflect years of conversations with fellow highly sensitive people. If you know of a technique that we don’t mention, feel free to become a contributor! Sia is here to gather the best advice, with no commercial aim.
You can search or browse topics to access the most effective advice, tailored to your needs. Whenever you are looking for assistance or knowledge, you can quickly find what’s relevant, helpful and directly applicable.
Situations can be “Preparing for a Family Meeting”, or “Dealing with a Difficult Colleague”, but also “Bright Lights”, and “Traveling by Train”. Techniques cover the most effective calming techniques, mindfulness practices, and many other topics to explore. All techniques come with “Instructions”, and “Why it Works” – so you can understand the science behind them as well.
Sia is free.
We believe everyone should have access to tools and support for their sensitivity, regardless of their financial situation. That’s why Sia’s core features are free.
Additionally, We help you connect with carefully vetted experts and services when you’re looking for extra support. This includes features to:
- Match you with HSP-knowledgeable therapists and coaches for one-on-one guidance
- Help companies find workplace consultants who can create more HSP-friendly work environments
- Recommend products and services that other HSPs have found helpful (only when you’re specifically looking for solutions)
These additional services are optional. This way, we can keep developing and improving Sia while ensuring it remains accessible to everyone in our sensitive community.
Sia’s story
Markus, the creator and founder of Sia, learned about sensory processing sensitivity when he was 31. He was later diagnosed with ADHD, at the age of 39. Over the years, he contacted many fellow HSPs as well as many experts in the field worldwide, to bring together methods, techniques, and knowledge to support sensitive people to thrive.. With a proven background in building digital products, Markus naturally chose to create an app to open the way for a multifaceted project made by and for sensitives. He is dedicated to creating sharable practical solutions.
